TODAY'S THE DAY
Today is the day I've been waiting for since 1971. When we married, I lived in Jackson and we lived there until December 1971. Rob wanted to be closer to his work and we built a home and moved back to Bradford since all our family was there it was a good idea, however, now my family is in Jackson and the Lord definitely made new plan for us. I am so happy to be going to live in Jackson where our back yards will connect with a bridge with my sister and her family. We'll also be closer to our children. All of that is such a blessing. I just praise the Lord for his wonderful idea! He is so good to us!!!
We've had a good life, raised two wonderful children and had a wonderful almost 36 years in "Big B." I have many, many wonderful memories of this home. There have been ups and downs, like when Rob was sick and had to have a kidney transplant in 2000, lost his job after almost 35 years and I lost both parents and my precious "Auntie Jewel," and Rob's mother but it is now time to continue on in our journey in life. I'll miss my First Baptist Church, where I was baptized and have gone all my life (we walked to church when I was young) and all of my wonderful friends and my sister-in-law, Patricia, and her family. I'll miss "E"arnestine" but she'll be coming to Jackson. I'll probably see more of Kelly and her kids than I did in Bradford since they are in Jackson all the time. There is nothing to compare to my home town were we both grew up as children and even graduated from high school in the same class, but now the Lord showed us a new plan. Rob was the boy mother picked for me long, long ago. You see Daddy owned "U'Totem Grocery", however we toted them, for all our growing up years and his family traded with him. I don't know how she knew him since she never went grocery shopping. She just made a list and Daddy brought the groceries home. Rob grocery shopped just like Daddy did. He got our groceries from Daddy and still does the grocery shopping most of the time. Now, instead of Bestway, it will be Kroger. Boy what a change!! We paid but not as much as the other customers.
We never dated in high school but we held hands in New York on the Senior Trip in 1965 because I was afraid and he was the tallest and biggest boy for me cause you see I was not too little myself!! Can you believe in 2007 that trip is still going on and we were afraid it would stop before we graduated!! We never even dated until later on and I was parked in Milan "probably with Monda," like we did back then and he drove up to talk to me and that was all it took and then from then on that was it. He sure did have any ugly BIG Green 1967 Pontiac car but I guess that didn't matter. He came to Jackson the next week and I came home on weekends. I was off on Wednesday afternoon and would come home. We'd meet at the store when I was leaving to say goodbye and maybe Kiss A Little, I think!!
Today we are On The Move!!! I can't wait but I still am a little sad but it is going to be a good day!!
